Sudbury rustic wedding of Brittany and Jordan

Wellington wedding photography by Binh Trinh

An amazing wedding with Brittany and Jordan as these two tied the knot at Sudbury, a Wellington wedding venue. How often do you get to see a dog as a flower girl and a ring bearer. That speaks volume about the fun and relaxing nature of Brittany and Jordan, as well as their families and friends.

How did it all started?

We met through Jordan’s mother, my boss at the time, at a local pub. He was very persistent in getting to know me and we just clicked.

The all important proposal

Jordan proposed to me at home using our much loved Labrador, Ruby. He had the ring box tied around her collar, and called out to me saying” theres something wrong with Ruby come quick”. I rushed to see what was wrong and found this big box. Then Jordan got down on one knee.

Your theme, and wedding style

Elegant and rustic. I feel like everyone has done the rustic look so i wanted ours to be more elegant and when we found the venue it was just that.

Tell us about your wedding day

It was amazing! We really stuck to our guns on what WE wanted, and I’m so glad we did. The speeches were a highlight for me. They were so funny! I’m so glad we got the whole day including speeches caught on video. My advice to brides is when planning your special day- block out all the people that have negative opinions, and stick to those that make you excited and understand your vision. My mum was my rock in planning and I was so lucky to have her help me make decisions.

What were the important items that made your wedding unique and special?

Choosing the right photographer and having videography so that we have footage of the speeches and ceremony to look back on.
By choosing Sudbury as our venue we had the option of arriving on tractor and trailer was something different and really cool.

What items did you cut back on, and any regrets

We cut back on decorative flowers at the ceremony, apart from our own bouquets, as you are only at the ceremony spot for a short amount of time, we decided to use more flowers in the reception area instead. We didn’t have a guest book because i thought I have photos of everyone that came instead.

What items did you splurge on, and any regrets?

The Venue! We wanted somewhere that had it all so I didnt need to organise chairs, tables etc. And we wanted a place that not many people had gone to before, we wanted to do things a bit different and have a point of difference.

The photographer- bad photos was NOT an option. Why spend thousands of dollars on a dress, makeup etc and then have bad photos. We chose our photographer as he has a point of difference and got some really amazing shots of us and the scenery.

Wedding Planning Tips

Not to worry about all the little planning details. Get as many people to take on responsibilities for setting up etc to take the stress away from you. Organise, Plan and Organise some more!
